When exporting files from Adobe Lightroom, embedding a color profile ensures your colors are interpreted correctly during printing. This guide shows how to export a print-ready file with an embedded profile.
Before you begin
- Your photo edits are finalized
- You are exporting the file from Lightroom (not Photoshop)
Export settings for print-ready files
- Select your image in Lightroom.
- Click File → Export.
- In the File Settings panel, set:
- File Format: JPEG or TIFF
- Color Space: Adobe RGB (1998)
- Quality: 100 (for JPEG)
- Complete the export.
Lightroom automatically embeds the selected color profile during export.
Common issues
sRGB selected by default
Lightroom often defaults to sRGB. Be sure to change the color space to Adobe RGB (1998) before exporting.
Uploader says no profile detected
Re-export the file and confirm the color space was set correctly during export.
Quick checklist
- Exported from Lightroom
