Use the crop tool to choose which part of your file will print. The outlined frame is the print area. Anything dimmed outside it will be trimmed.
How to set your crop
- Start an order, choose your print product, and upload or select your image.
- In Size & Crop, choose a standard size or enter a custom size. The selected dimensions set the shape of the crop frame.
- Look at all four edges of the preview. Drag the image inside the frame to position it. Use Zoom if you need a tighter crop, and Rotate if the image orientation is wrong.
- Keep signatures, text, faces, and other important details comfortably inside the frame. Select Done cropping before moving to the next option.
- Review the preview again before adding the print to your cart.
Why part of my image is outside the frame
Your file and the selected print size may have different shapes. For example, a square file needs to lose some content to fill an 8 × 10 image area. You can move the crop to choose what stays, select a size closer to your file's shape, or prepare a new file with intentional space around the artwork.
Adding a paper border happens after cropping. It adds unprinted paper outside the image area and does not bring back content outside the crop frame. See How to Use Borders in Your Prints for final paper size examples.
Check resolution after cropping
A tighter crop uses fewer pixels. Watch the resolution guidance beside the selected size and choose a smaller print or a larger source file if the builder says the crop is too low resolution. See How to Check Your Image Resolution.
