Understanding Finishing Options - Gallery Wrapped Canvas Prints

Gallery Wrapped Canvas Prints arrive stretched over wooden bars with finished sides and hanging hardware selected for the size. They are intended for wall display without a separate frame. You choose the canvas finish, stretcher depth, and edge treatment when ordering.

Make three finishing choices

1. Canvas finish: Satin adds a soft sheen and stronger contrast. Matte reduces reflections, which can help in bright viewing light.
2. Stretcher depth: A 0.75-inch bar gives a slimmer profile; a 1.5-inch bar gives the piece more visible depth from the side.

Review the artwork before checkout

Keep signatures, text, faces, and other important details clear of the edge. Check the selected size, crop, and edge preview before placing the order. For a solid edge, the image stays on the face while the sides use the selected color. A mirrored edge repeats image detail at the sides.

If you will use a floater frame, check its usable interior width, height, and depth before ordering. A frame labeled with the same nominal size may not have enough space for the stretched canvas.

Is gallery wrap the right choice?

Choose gallery wrap when you want a finished wall piece. Choose Rolled Canvas Prints if you or your framer will stretch or frame the canvas. Choose Mounted Prints if you want a rigid, flat backing without the depth of a stretched canvas.
